Pediatric Oral Surgeon
Dr. Caroline Zeller brings extensive surgical expertise and a compassionate approach to Pebble Pediatric Dentistry, ensuring children receive the highest standard of oral surgery care in a calm, supportive environment. As a skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeon and graduate of OHSU, she is specially trained to perform complex procedures with precision and gentleness. Her presence allows us to offer advanced in-house surgical treatments—from extractions to pathology management—while keeping kids comfortable and parents reassured.
Dr. Caroline Zeller is an Assistant Professor in the General Practice Residency Program and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the OHSU School of Dentistry. She also serves as the Director of Quality and Patient Safety within the Hospital Dental Service at OHSU.
Dr. Zeller earned her B.S. in Genetics from the University of Kansas in 2011 and her D.D.S. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City in 2016. She completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at OHSU in 2017. She is also pursuing a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on health management and policy at OHSU.[x]
She maintains a clinical practice specializing in dentoalveolar surgery, often working in hospital-based and predoctoral oral surgery clinics. In addition, she provides care in low-income settings across Oregon, emphasizing access to professional dental services for underserved populations.
In 2024–25, Dr. Zeller began her term as President of the Oregon Dental Association Board of Trustees, where she advocates for policies that improve dental access and promote diversity in clinical practice sizes. She also represents Oregon as an ADA delegate and is actively involved in dental policy at the state level.
Recognized nationally, Dr. Zeller was awarded the ADA’s “10 Under 10” award in 2021 and was named to Incisal Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list for her contributions to oral health advocacy and professional leadership.
Raised in a family of healthcare professionals in Topeka, Kansas—her father is an oral surgeon, her sister a prosthodontist, and siblings practicing in other healthcare fields—she participated in mission trips abroad from a young age. These experiences shaped her deep commitment to equity, advocacy, and service in dentistry .
Dr. Zeller brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, academic dedication, and public health advocacy to Oregon’s dental community. Her roles at OHSU, leadership in organized dentistry, and personal mission to remove barriers to dental care make her a respected voice in pediatric oral surgery and beyond.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Zeller is married and the proud mother of a six-month-old daughter. She is an avid outdoors enthusiast who enjoys hiking, camping, yoga, and music, and she credits her family’s strong health care background and her late hero, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, with shaping her commitment to use her skills in service of others.
